Is it just me? Or is each year getting shorter and shorter.
What's up dear readers. Y'all are far too kind for reading my posts. It feels weird that I'm just writing into space not knowing if anyone reads this or not. HAH. Anyway. To you, yes you. Just want to wish you a very Happy New Year. Hoping 2015 will be the year where your dreams, wishes and goals come true!
So 2014 has been a rockin year for me personally. Countless adventures that I've encountered and wonderful people I've met. Not to mention completing first year, or should I say surviving first year of my engineering degree in England!

Summer back home!
After the Portugal trip, it was time for me to go back home.
Home for me is Sabah, Borneo. Thus begins the long 16 hour flight back home!
The best part of being back home was just the familiarity of everything, the amazing food, people and my family. Going to the beach that's just 5 minutes drive away and literally just driving anywhere and everywhere I want to go to.
Some highlights of being back home was joining the Boneo Headhunters frisbee team and being able to play with these awesome people at the beach each week.
Meeting up with friends all the way from the UK and bringing them around my hometown.
Sabah prides itself for being one of the worlds best dive sites. One of the things I missed the most was diving.

Road trip to the Tip of Borneo with some amazing people. A relaxing getaway to enjoy our beautiful home.

Took a trip down and flew to Sandakan to visit the Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation centre, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) and a 3 day 2 night stay at the Sandakan & Kinabatangan Nature Lodge.

One memorable activity during our 3 days 2 nights stay at the Kinabatangan Nature lodge was when we tracked into the lush rainforest while battling with mosquitoes, leeches and heat to arrive at the Ox-bow lake where we enjoyed a natural fish spa.
However the best opportunity was to witness wild Borneo Pygmy elephants, the shy Orangutans, Borneo's numerous species of primates, horn bills, eagles and salt water crocodiles. In addition, each morning we woke up before 6am for a cooling river cruise down the foggy Kinabatangan river to watch the sunrise.
The downside of the trip was a disappointing sight of the increasing oil palm development along the river bed stretching over hundreds of acres. It is sad to know that these development has caused destruction and lost of habitat to many of Borneo's endangered species. Despite efforts of protests and awareness it is clear to see that the control and issue of plantation permits are not being regulated strictly. I just hope and pray that these issues will not continue to worsen to the point where one day there wont be any chance of seeing these animals in the wild again.

The summer break ended and a new chapter of life started as I flew back to the UK for the start of a new semester as a 2nd year Civil engineering student.
Moving into a new house and settling down before a hectic Semester 1 started.
Winter break came as a relief from the stresses of countless coursework and deadlines to meet. It was great to spend time away from Leeds as I spent Christmas with my brother and went down to London where I went to the Winter Wonderland.
I loved the atmosphere, the lights and decorations, the aroma of waffles, sausages and mulled wine, crackling of fire wood and the cold air tingling our senses
There's so much I'm grateful for this year through everything I've been through. There were definitely some ups and downs but by the grace of God everything worked out pretty well. So, thank you God, to my parents for their love, my siblings for being who they are and my friends!
